Product Description

An impressive box bench in original paint, gorgeous patina and wear giving a warm reddy brown glow, superior craftsmanship. Decorated with spindles and with unusual horizontal spindles to ends of backrest (a feature we’ve not seen before). It was also a bed bench so the front pulls out like a drawer to form a bed compartment. Very solid. Pine and oak. Central Europe c.1870. Can be repainted on request.
